Now-a-days, the development in information technology (IT) area is speeding as the advancement of the technology. Internet television also known as Online TV is built in year 2005. It is different with the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV). It is a distribution of television service digitally via internet. It works by either streaming the content directly to media player or downloading the program to the user’s computer. According the data explorer, it shows a huge different between the popularity of European Union and the United States in year 2010 as there was only twenty-five percent of Europeans had access to this service while the U.S. people spend around thirteen hours a week in this service averagely. It shows that there will be a rise in popularity of consumers of this service.
According the list of internet television providers, it consist of one from Africa and Australia respectively, eight countries from Americas, five countries from Asia and Europe hit the most as eighteen countries. The common providers include BBC iPlayer in United Kingdom, Hulu in United States; Nederland 24 in Netherlands, ABC iview in Australia, RTÉ Player in Ireland and Tivibu in Turkey. Meanwhile, some providers provide several different formats and quality controls to convenience the users by viewing the content on different devices as most of these providers provide the website-based, Windows and Mac application and ISO application service. As the competition, some internet television providers choose to include conventional television stations to continue showing programmes.
As discussed above the internet plus bellen, i.e., internet TV is something over and above the traditional television. People are becoming more use to it and its acceptance among the users is broadening the path of success for entertainment over internet.
